Stuck in a Pattern
Hello my dear Readers 🙂
How have you been? Hope things have been good at your end. In the gap that I disappeared this time after A to Z Challenge and till now, I successfully completed my masters and landed myself in a new job. There have been so many changes and for once, I welcomed them gladly. I was bored of the same old pattern – college, studies, assignments, exams, holidays and repeat. I needed something new and I believed my new job would be a welcome change.
And it sure was. Only until I got used to that pattern as well – cook, office work, cook and repeat. I now understood more clearly about Monday blues and waiting for the weekends. I understood why people hated a Mondays with a passion and why they complained about Sunday being too short. Within a couple of weeks, I started hating the monotony of my life. College life definitely was better – I atleast had more spare time to go out but office work didn’t give me that luxury. As they say, what you have is always seems dull in comparison with other choices.
I sure would have lost my mind if not for a new found passion – walking. I started going to a nearby park every morning. My morning walks usually took one hour but it kept me energetic throughout the day. The greenery, the fresh air and the energy rush, it works wonders and can uplift your mood to great extent. Since I have started walking, my colleagues (I still find it very difficult to use this word. Saying classmates and friends was so easy!) have noticed the improvement in my mood.
Ofcourse, it wasn’t a sudden change. I have struggled waking up early, dragging myself out of the bed that promised warmth but that is another story and I promise to share soon how I started and continued this new routine. What is important for now is, when life gets monotonous and you are stuck in a pattern, find something you love to help you sail by. Trust me, it works wonders!
