Weight Loss Saga
Do you look in the mirror and wish your reflection looked different? Do you see your fit friends and wish you were like them? Does the word ‘Diet’ sound like Latin because food is your first love? I hear you people, I hear you! Because I am riding on the same boat. Don’t you hate it when skinny people talk about losing weight? While you stand there sucking in breath, hoping your tummy isn’t visible, they talk about how they have put on weight. Trust me, I feel like, if they lose more weight, they can float in the air!
“I will lose weight this year for sure” is the only resolution I take every year. After having the same resolution for years together, you would think I have become as fit as fit can be. But if anything, I have only put on more weight. Why? I blame it on my mom. She cooks the most delicious food and hates when I say No to something. “Mom I don’t want pakoras. I am on diet” *She stuffs a couple of them in my mouth* “Okay. It’s your wish. I think you don’t like what I cook anymore”. That’s it. There goes the diet.
The weight loss journey is so magical. You take it suddenly see food everywhere. Everyone around you feels like talking about food. Mom suddenly starts cooking all yummy dishes. But no! Diet doesn’t give you the liberty to devour on it as you would have liked. But I, for one, am different. I see good food, I finish it first. Reason? If it’s not there anymore, it can’t tempt you 😉
Just like ‘I will definitely read from tomorrow’ is every student’s mantra, ‘I will definitely exercise from tomorrow’ is the mantra of every person who wants to lose weight.
And exercising! I am not sure I know the meaning of this word. It sounds very scary 😛 My fitness freak friend adviced - “Get up early in the morning and exercise. You should be in shape” I look at her like she asked a share in my property. Get up early? No way. I love sleep so much. There is no way I am sacrificing it! Go away you insane girl! And don’t you see? Round is a shape. So I am in shape already!
This month, I had vowed to take dieting and exercising seriously. Did I succeed? Nope. Instead, I have three new people to blame for breaking my diet - Shalini, Tina and Mayuri. They have taken it on them to post dilicious looking food on their blogs and tempt everyone with it. Me being a foodie couldn’t avoid the temptation. I mean, a day or two is okay. But how do you survive a month long temptation? Simple, I didn’t. I gave in to my cravings and had yummy foods. The resolution is gone for a toss again!
